Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu (1300 m) to Kerung Border (145 Km)

The first day of the Kathmandu-Lhasa Tour. You will take an early morning breakfast and then will be taken to the Bus station by the representative of Step On Himalaya to head towards Kerung Border (famous as Nepal-Tibet Border). On the way, you will be treated with the amazing views of the countryside, greeneries, rivers and the snowy Himalayas. After clearing the necessary procedures at the border for the immigration, you will drive towards Kerung uphill or walk for about 2 hours. At Kerung, overnight stay at Guesthouse.

Day 02: Drive from Kerung to Tingri (4300 m) / Lhatse (4,350 m)

You will today drive to the world’s highest plateau from where the unique landscape of Tibet along with the beautiful panorama of Himalayan ranges like Mt. Xishapagma and Mt. Cho Oyu can be seen if the weather is clear enough. From Tingri, you can enjoy the view of the top of the world, Mt. Everest. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.

Day 03: Drive from Tingri/Lhaste to Shigatse (3,900 m)

Today you will head towards Shigatse. You will drive passing through the Gyatchu La (5220m.), the highest pass on the way to Lhasa via Lhatse. From here, the pathway to Mt. Kailash splits towards the west. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 04: Drive from Shigatse to Gyantse (3,950 m)

After an early morning breakfast, you will be taken for a sightseeing tour of the Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu Monastery. After visiting the monastery, you will continue the drive to Gyantse and then pay a visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Drive from Gyantse to Lhasa (3,650 m)

From Gyantse to Lhasa, it is an enchanting drive that crosses over Karola, Kambala, the gorgeous Yamdrok-Tso Lake and the Brahma Putra river (Yarlung Tsangpo). Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06-Day 07: Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa

Day 6 and Day 7 are subjected for the sightseeing tour in Lhasa. During this tour, you will be taken to the Potala Palace, the Jokhang temple, the Barkhor Bazaar, the Drepung monastery and the Sera monastery. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07-Day 06: Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa

Day 08: Flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu

You will be driven to the Gonggar airport or the train station after having your breakfast. If you are heading back to Kathmandu, you will be escorted to the Gonggar airport and if you are doing a further tour, then you will be taken to the train station for the further tour in Mainland China.
