Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa

You will be taken to the Tribhuwan International Airport in a private vehicle and then flight to Lhasa. At Lhasa airport, the representative from Step On Himalaya will come to receive you and then will transfer to the hotel which will take about 2 hours. On the way, you will pass through the Yarlung Tsangpo and the Lhasa Kyichu River. After arriving at the hotel, get freshen up and get rest for the day tour tomorrow. Overnight stay at the hotel

Day 02: Day Tour – First Day

After the breakfast, you will be escorted into a private vehicle for the day tour. First place is the Potala Palace which was built by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo during the 7th century and then was renovated by the 5th Dalai Lama during the 17th century. The next visit is to the Sera Monastery that is situated at the 5 kilometers northern part of Lhasa city. This Sera monastery was established in 1419 by Jamchen Choeiji. He is the disciple of Tsongkhapa (Founder of the Gelugpa sect.). Sera monastery is one of the three chief monasteries of the yellow sect. in the Tibet. You will then return to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Day Tour – Second Day

The second day of Day Tour in Lhasa. You will take the breakfast and then again taken in a private transport. Today’s first destination is Drepung monastery which is known as the largest monastery of the Gelugpa sect. in Lhasa. This monastery was established in 1416 by Jamyang Chojje, a disciple of Tsongkhapa. Then you will visit the Jokhang temple and the famous Barkhor market. This temple is the holiest shrine and the home of the Golden statuette of the Shakyamuni Buddha. This was brought by Wenchen, the Chinese princess to the Tibetan land. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Departure from Lhasa to your next destination

FAQ

The mountains now have basic teahouse and lodge accommodations for trekkers. You can spend overnight in the warmth of guesthouses called teahouses during the trek unlike tented camps in the past.

Yes, permits are necessary for the trek. Since, you are going on our package, we take care of everything. You do not need to worry about arranging the permit for yourself.

When you are on our trek package, we provide porters to carry your backpack in the mountains. A porter carries the backpacks of two trekkers.You suggest you to keep your backpack around 10 kg. 

In that unfortunate case, we will make sure that you are well taken care of. If you cannot continue your journey further towards the destination and want to rest or return back, we will arrange a porter to be with you and take care of you while rest of the group members continue the trek.
