Thousands of travelers visit Nepal, most of them solely for trekking the various Himalayan pathways to Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Island Peak, and others. Five years ago, in April 2015, a devastating earthquake hit Nepal, taking 10,000 lives and destroying many properties and trekking paths, particularly the popular Lantang path.
After the earthquake, the Langtang valley was void of all signs of habitation. Due to the resiliency of the local Nepalese people, it took only a short time until their businesses were back up and running, and the Langtang pathways were cleared and declared safe, once again, for trekking. Always ready to support the reindustrialization of the area, Step on Himalaya created several itineraries to hike the Langtang Valley for trekkers to enjoy.
Langtang valley is easily accessible by road from Kathmandu, starting from Syafrubensi, beneath Mt. Langtang Lirung Himal. You will hike up to enjoy cool breezes from the Langtang Lirung Himal and other adjoining peaks. The route from Langtang valley passing via Kyanjin Gompa, Gangala Pass, Helambu, and then Chisapani is once again very safe for trekking, and just as beautiful as ever. The area also boasts the Kyanjin Gompa, which offers mesmerizing views of the snow-capped mountains. The Langtang Valley has regained its identity after the 2015 Earthquake.
The locals, mostly from the Tamang Community, have created cultural programs, and natural tours for trekkers to enjoy and learn about local culture. Step on Himalaya loves to take trekkers to Langtang, not only for trekking and enjoying the hidden natural beauty but also to acknowledge the history, geography, culture, and traditions of the local people in the Langtang region.
By visiting the Langtang Region once, you will automatically be a part of the reimbursement and development programs. You get to enjoy the adventure while supporting the rebuilding of local communities as they continue to develop and recover. You only have to look around to enjoy the snowy peaks, the serene alpine climate & flora, wildlife, endangered species, glittering glaciers, the views of the Langtang Lirung Himal, and other neighboring peaks. It is a rich reward for your trekking efforts. We at Step on Himalaya assure you the optimal satisfaction, value, and safe journey to the Langtang – the glory of Nepal.
